wAnika Acoustic 16mm PU acoustic underlay is a high-performance modified polyurethane closed-cell elastic mat independently developed by Clocell Acoustics, compiled material for national construction standard drawing. Manufactured from premium imported PU raw material with composite microcellular damping structure, this 16mm thick floating floor underlay is formaldehyde-free and zero TVOC emission, fully compliant with global green building & indoor environmental protection standards. One side is laminated with flame-retardant non-woven fabric to prevent cement mortar penetration during concrete pouring and avoid surface damage in construction.
Available in standard roll size: 1m width ×10m length, customized dimension acceptable per client’s project demand. Widely adopted for floating slab system between bare concrete floor and screed layer to block structure-borne impact noise from footsteps, furniture dragging and heavy object falling.
16mm modified PU sound insulation underlay effectively cuts floor impact noise up to 32dB, long service life over 50 years, ideal for floating concrete slab, underfloor heating, apartment, hotel and renovation noise control projects.

5. Standard Installation Guidance

Clean the base concrete floor, remove protrusions and repair surface pits before laying.

Unroll Clocell 16mm PU mat tightly with tight joint between adjacent rolls, cover all seams with dedicated sealing tape.

Fold the mat upward 16mm alongside all perimeter walls to eliminate side acoustic bridge.

Pour 40~50mm fine aggregate concrete protective screed on top of the underlay.

Finish tile/wood/stone flooring after concrete full curing.
6. Product Selection Guide
16mm thick PU mat belongs to heavy-duty enhanced grade with better low-frequency noise insulation and higher load capacity compared with 3mm/5mm/10mm thin versions. Prioritize this specification for gym floor, underfloor heating construction, heavy-load commercial space and premium noise-sensitive residential projects. 8–10mm PU underlay is recommended for ordinary bedroom floor sound insulation.
